Anthropology

High-level training for research, teaching, and the transformation of complex human reality.

All programs

Description

Amid Guatemala's multicultural context and a deeply divided society, professionals are needed who can develop responsibility and ethical commitment in transforming complex human reality.

Through specialization, research, and constructive proposal, this doctorate seeks to respond to the disenchantment with rationality; to the passage from Nietzsche's "God is dead" to Foucault's "Man is dead"; to the loss of the sense of history and the manageable nihilism that reinforces immediacy; and to a pluralism of values understood as axiological relativism.
