Forest with Meaning
A space devoted to life, contemplation, and encounter, on the ICF Campus.
Philosophy, more than its etymology as "the love of wisdom," is the human capacity for wonder. And what better opportunity for wonder than a path brimming with contemplation: what Viktor Frankl called experiential values — everything considered valuable that the world offers us, such as art and nature.
The "Forest with Meaning" comprises a large part of our campus and is a space dedicated to life and reflection. Each pine tree, planted many years ago by a very special graduating class of ICF students, is home to everything from birds and squirrels to every possibility of aesthetic admiration.
It is a place of encounter with oneself, with nature, and with this institution's history: the people who have passed through it and who, just as they were small seeds one day, today stand as tall as the pine trees that furnish this lush green forest.
